MLM genealogy leads can be a helpful resource in establishing your network marketing company, particularly if you're an experienced internet marketer. But, as with most things, there are both advantages and disadvantages to using them. In the following paragraphs, we'll analyze the issues surrounding MLM genealogy lists.

First Of All, The Good...

I normally consult with mlm networkers that are new to the business. Most of the time, they've been advised by their upline to do a list of friends, family members, and colleagues to approach about their opportunity.

This is not the best way forward.

If you're selling sports cars, the perfect prospect is someone who has purchased a sports car recently... that might include your pals, family members, and associates.

Sponsoring someone into your MLM prospect is no different. Ideally, you want t talk to individuals who have signed up with a network marketing opportunity a short while ago. These are called "opportunity buyers," which is exactly what MLM genealogy leads are.

Therefore, if you're thinking about buying MLM genealogy leads, you're on the right track.

The Bad...

Regrettably, it's not usually that easy.

MLM genealogy leads are often years of age, having been dragged from the back office of companies that are no longer in operation. This translates into a lot of bad numbers and people screaming, "John doesn't live here anymore... Stop phoning me!"

Furthermore, there's a great chance that the list has been marketed many times. Odds are, your "fresh MLM genealogy lead" has been contacted many times before you ever bought their information.

One more issue is consumers. A lot of companies place both consumers and distributors in the same report, and simply because someone purchased a product does not mean they'll be considering joining an opportunity. Yet more of your time is squandered.

The Ugly...

Last of all, there's one vitally important factor to weigh. Every name on the list that you purchased there for one reason and one reason only: they joined, or purchased product from, a MLM.

Not one of them called for their name to be put there, neither did they ask to be solicited by you.

This influences you in two ways:

1) Lawfully, you need to be careful in the way you initiate contact. Since you don't have their permission, and their phone number might be on the do not phone call list, you can't take advantage of something like voice broadcasting... and also you need to be careful with e-mail.

You can contact them one by one, but that's not very efficient...

Direct mail is probably most secure, but some MLM genealogy leads actually include address data. Many include things like name, phone, and e-mail if you're fortuitous.

2) It takes more skill to be successful with these leads. If you're going to pick up the phone and call them harsh, you better understand precisely what you're going to say and be positive in your delivery.

Or else--if they smell fear--you'll be eaten alive!

So there you have it! The good, the bad, and also the ugly on MLM genealogy leads.

You are right to be targeting opportunity buyers, but remember that the majority of MLM genealogy lists are aged, obsolete and full of bad data. You have to be careful how you reach out to them, and when you do actually reach the individual whose name is on your list you'll need to handle the conversation with care.
